About Golden Sands Beach

Golden Sands Beach is a special place on the east side of Turtle Lake, Saskatchewan.

It was founded by Anne and Wallace Bruce and has a long history at Turtle Lake going back more than 50 years. This is a property with real roots, real beauty, and a setting that is hard to duplicate. Golden Sands earned its name honestly — fine golden sand, clear lake water, mature trees, boreal forest, long summer light, and a shoreline that offers some of the most beautiful western sky views over the lake.

What makes this area so appealing is the combination of natural beauty and ease. The beach is fine and beautiful. The water is inviting. Nearby are a large public beach, playground, and public boat launch, while the setting itself remains private, treed, and relaxed. You get the best parts of lake life here: room to breathe, room to enjoy, and a pace that feels like summer should.

One of the unique features of Golden Sands Beach is the way the day ends here. As the sun lowers over the lake, the western sky opens into a quiet display of light, reflection, and color that feels both relaxing and breathtaking. In midsummer, the water can hold the last light until nearly 11 p.m. The sky deepens and softens. Some of Mrs. Gran’s paintings still hang on the wall at the Golden Sands Beach office — look for the log cabin on the beach that says OFFICE.

The Golden Sands Beach logo also carries special meaning, reflecting Anne Bruce’s connection to the many hummingbirds that summer at Golden Sands Beach. For years, Anne faithfully fed the hummingbirds at the beach and looked forward to their return each season. They are part of the rhythm of summer here. The hummingbird became the natural choice for the Golden Sands Beach logo — beauty, energy, joy, and the simple pleasure of returning to a place you love.
